Some people ask why 100% is not tax-deductible. According to the IRS tax code, if an attendee of a charitable event is receiving a benefit (food, beverage, activity, etc.) the fair market value of that benefit is not tax-deductible. Even if we get the full bar, food, etc. donated, you, the attendee are still recieving a value for your donation and therefore that portion, the “fair market value” is not tax-deductible.
